Welcome everyone to the official first blog post for Picturing.Community. A website dedicated to telling the stories of community collaboration!
You may ask.. "Community collaboration... what is that?" Good question. Mainly, because I'm not sure myself. You see... this is a discovery process. A journey to find what community collaboration is, what it looks like, and how it functions. More importantly, it's a discovery of how collaboration is expressed in our communities.
In a nutshell, the purpose of this website is to find where collaboration is occurring in the world and to showcase the final outcomes. What actually happens when a business partners with a nonprofit in support of their local community.
Murals and public art art great examples of companies, nonprofits, and artists all work together in order to create something we can all enjoy. It is my hope that people start to notice the great work that is happening around them and to recognize the organizations, people, and companies that are making it happen.
